Ex-3SC Chairman, Baba Lankondoro, Dies At 111

A former chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and probably the oldest football fan in Nigeria, Pa Olayiwola Olakojo, alias Baba Lankondoro, is dead.

His death was announced on Thursday at the age of 111 years.

Born on January 7, 1912 to traditional worshippers of Ile Otun, Oje in Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo State with their village at Saago Idiiya of Ido Local Government Area of the State.

Pa Lankondoro schooled at Oke Are Theological Seminary, Ibadan and St Finnbar, Lagos and taught briefly as a teacher before he joined the Colonial Army in 1939 for the 2nd World War, which took him to Scotland, India, Trimia and others, alongside the late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade, who was also then an officer.
