A former senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Anthony Ezekwugo, has formally resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

His resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman, Wuse Ward, Municipal Area Council, FCT, Abuja, in which he announced his immediate withdrawal from all party activities and obligations.

In the letter, Ezekwugo said the decision followed “Deep reflection and careful consideration of the current political realities in Nigeria,” adding that they no longer aligned with his personal convictions, principles, and expectations for credible leadership and democratic progress.

He stated that although he appreciated the platform provided by the ADC, it had become necessary for him to step aside in order to pursue a political path that better reflects his values and vision for national development.

The letter read in part: “Kindly accept this letter as my official withdrawal from all activities and obligations associated with the party. Thank you for the opportunity to serve.”

Ezekwugo, who later moved to the ADC after the 2023 general elections, has now aligned with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), where he is also seeking to contest the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency seat.
