‎Former Big Brother Naija Housemate, Neo Akpofure, has threatened legal action from a lady who, on Tuesday, February 17, took to her X handle to accuse him of sexual assault. Neo, through his lawyer, demanded a public retraction and apology.
‎
‎‎The lady who uses the handle @notralia had alleged that she and Neo used to be casual sex buddies while they were at the University of Calabar. She stated they agreed to be friends with benefits on the condition that neither of them would be in a relationship. The lady claimed that she found out that Neo was in a relationship, stormed his house to confront him and that it was then that he raped her.
‎
‎‎Neo’s lawyers strongly denied the allegation, describing it as ‘entirely false, malicious and defamatory,’ and accused the accuser of damaging their client’s reputation and exposing him to public ridicule.
‎
‎In a letter dated February 18, 2026, and issued by the law firm E.L. Akpofure, San & Co., the legal team accused the X user identified as Ms Arikan Udoka of publishing defamatory content against their client.
‎
‎“The allegation falsely portrays our client as a sexual offender and a criminal, thereby subjecting him to public odium, reputational injury and emotional distress,” the letter stated.
‎
‎The legal notice demanded that the X user delete the post and any related publications, issue an apparent public retraction, and publish an apology acknowledging that the allegations were untrue. The lawyers also requested a written undertaking that no further defamatory statements would be made.
‎
‎The firm warned that failure to comply within 48 hours would result in legal action, including a civil defamation suit under Nigerian law.
