The Former Governor of Adamawa State, Vice Admiral Murtala Nyako has baged a prestigious award from associations of skill aquisition empowerment programme beneficiaries, during his tenure as executive governor of Adamawa State.
Performing the ceremony at his residence in Yola, Nyako said the award was coming at a good and challenging time.
The guest speaker Mohammed Abubakar , who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries association, said His Excellency bagged the award because of his outstanding performance during his time as the executive governor of the state.
According to him, Nyako’s excellent qualities are second to none as he created avenues for job employment and boosted the economy through grant and soft loans to empower women, youths and the old, hence the award.
He explained that all the beneficiaries came together to reward him for his good gestures. They acknowledged his administration in areas such as; the vocation technical training centers, the local apprenticeship programmes and the farmers skill aquisition. Thus, the beneficiaries as well as the Special Advisers all synergized to reward him, said Mohammed.
Mohammed said Nyakos adminstration remains second to none as the state is yet to get his match in terms of empowerment programmes and job creation.
According to him, Nyakos is a hero in Adamawa and his name writing on gold as well as it will continue to be remembered at all times.
Also speaking, the Special Assistant, Hon. Abubakar Faisal Oyoyo averred that, since Nyako left government his shoes are unreplaceable and for the economy of Adamawa to bouce back, inclusion of empowerment programmes is key.
Receiving the award with thanks, the former state governor , expressed confidence in the youth and advices them to be more proactive and use any available opportunity giving to them hence their future is within them.
