A former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Jigawa State Council, Comrade Fahad Muhammad Malamadori, is dead.
Malamadori died at the age of 55.
Incumbent chairman of the Council, Comrade Samaila Ibrahim Dutse announced that Malamadori died in the late hours of Sunday 6th June, 2025, at his residence in Malam Madori town.
Until his death, he was a staff of the Jigawa State Ministry of Information, Youth, Sports, and Culture as an Information Officer in charge of Birniwa and Kirikasamma local government areas.
The deceased former NUJ chairman was also a member of the Jigawa Council’s Advisory Committee.
He is survived by one wife and four children.
Malamadori has since been buried according to Islamic rites in his hometown, Malam Madori.
The NUJ Zone A, expressed heartfelt condolences to the NUJ National President, Alhassan Usman, the National Secretariat, the Jigawa State Government, his family, and the entire media community over the loss.
In a condolence message signed by the Secretary of NUJ Zone A, Abdulrazak Bello Kaura, he described Malamadori’s death as a monumental loss to the NUJ family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants his soul eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus.
Similarly, the Jigawa State NUJ Council described the deceased as not only a journalist, but also a passionate unionist who upheld the values of truth, professionalism, and unity among media practitioners.
In a statement signed by the Council’s secretary, Comrade Aisha Ahmed, the NUJ noted that Malamadori’s tenure as Chairman was marked by integrity, selflessness, and dedication to the welfare of journalists.
She added that his sterling performance will remain indelible in the annals of history.
