Ex-Kaduna Gov Yero, Shehu Sani, Hunkuyi, Others Defect To APC In Kaduna

Their action influenced by my all-inclusive governance, says Gov Uba Sani

Former governor of Kaduna State, Mukthar Ramalan Yero; former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, and other prominent opposition politicians, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State.

This is as the incumbent State governor, Uba Sani, said the decision of the defectors was due to his inclusive and people-centred policies and programmes in the State.

Addressing APC faithful and supporters at a mega rally held at Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna at the weekend, Governor Sani told the defectors that APC was one family.

The governor also assured the 50 political stalwarts that defected to the APC that they would enjoy the same rights and privileges like every other party member.

He said that there was no difference between a party member who joined APC today and the ones that had been in APC 10 years earlier.

Governor Sani told the defectors to notify their supporters of the readiness of APC to accept them into the party as their doors were still open to accept more defectors.

Sani said, “In 2027 election, the electorate will vote for APC in all the elections, from top to bottom. At the top, our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be elected. At the state level, the party will be voted for at the gubernatorial, National and State Assembly elections, by the Grace of God.”

The governor promised that projects would be executed in all the nooks and crannies of Kaduna State, irrespective of party affiliations and ethno-religious differences.

Other prominent politicians who defected to APC include Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, who was the gubernatorial candidate of NNPP in the last elections, and Alhaji Sani Sha’aban, also a former gubernatorial candidate.

Others are Senator Danjuma Laah who represented Kaduna South thrice at the National Assembly on the platform of PDP; Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, a former National Organising Secretary of PDP, and Ambassador Sule Buba, former Nigeria’s envoy to South Korea, among others.
