National leader of the third phase of the Presidential Amnesty Programme and member of the Amnesty Strategic Communication Committee, Comrade Tonye Bobo, has said Niger Delta ex-agitators are not at loggerheads with the new interim administrator of the programme, Maj. Gen. Barry Tariye Ndiomu.

In a statement signed by Comrade Bobo, the third phase national leader noted that the ex-agitators see the new amnesty boss as an open-minded, resolute and compassionate leader whose body language has given them hope.

According to him, it would be too hasty for anyone to allege misuse of limited budgeted funds of PAP in the present circumstance.

He said; “The interim administrator did not say he would spend funds from the program to purchase relief materials for flood victims, rather, he only showed empathy with the suffering masses across the region, suggesting the possibility of liaising with relevant agencies to ameliorate the effect of the unfortunate natural disaster on the flood victims in the region.”

Comrade Bobo pointed out that during the meeting in Port Harcourt, Maj. Gen. Ndiomu never made any uncomplimentary remarks against the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Mohammed Babagana Monguno (rtd) knowingly or unknowingly.

He noted it was intended to stir up violence and infighting among the ex-agitators in the region for reasons best known to the authors.

He warned that those rushing to the press to make frivolous allegations against Maj. Gen. Ndiomu may be inviting the wrath of the gods of Ijaw land against themselves.

He maintained that at no occasion did the new Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, make such remarks in Port Harcourt during his maiden visit to the Niger Delta region, informing that as a leader of the third phase, he participated in the breakfast meeting the Interim Administrator had with the Strategic Communication Committee and wondered where such “blatant lie and blackmail was coming from.”
