A former lawmaker representing Ibadan South East State Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdul-Rasak Ademola Abdullahi, who is popularly known as Omo Sheu, is dead.

Abdullahi, who served in the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly reportedly died on Sunday night after battling a kidney-related disease.

The lawmaker was credited for his grassroots connection and commitment to the welfare of his constituents, particularly in Ibadan South East.

The late Omo Sheu’s tenure in the House was renowned for community development and improved social services advocacy.

While official details have yet to emerge on the passage of the former lawmaker, his colleague in the 9th Assembly, representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi, a.k.a. Wale Canada, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Abdullahi.

Gbadamosi described the deceased as a committed public servant whose contributions to legislative governance and constituency development will be long remembered.

In a condolence message released on Monday, Gbadamosi stated that Abdullahi’s was a painful loss, not only to his family and constituents but also to the Oyo State House of Assembly and the wider political community.

“Hon. Abdul-Rasak Ademola Abdullahi was a dedicated legislator, a colleague of principle, and a man who served his people with sincerity and passion. His demise is a profound loss to our Assembly and to Oyo State at large,” Gbadamosi said.

He emphasised that the deceased distinguished himself through humility, cooperation, and a strong commitment to democratic ideals during his tenure in the 9th Assembly.

“Hon. Abdul-Rasak Ademola Abdullahi was a dedicated legislator, a colleague of principle, and a man who served his people with sincerity and passion. His demise is a profound loss to our Assembly and to Oyo State at large,” he stated.

He prayed the Almighty Allah to forgive the late lawmaker’s shortcomings, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus, and give his family, friends, and loved ones the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
