Senator Babafemi Ojudu, a former Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President in thr Office of the Vice President in the last dispensation, has dismissed claims that he was lobbying for a position in the administration of President Bola Tinubu, describing the reports as false and misleading.
Ojudu, a journalist cum politician, in a post shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday night, said his attention had been drawn to a “misleading video compilation” allegedly circulated by “propagandists” to suggest he was seeking a role in the current government.
“My attention has been drawn to a misleading video compilation circulated by some propagandists, suggesting that I am seeking a role in the current government. This is entirely false,” he said.
The former federal lawmaker clarified that he had not granted any interview in March 2026, noting that the last time he spoke publicly in an interview setting was in 2025 about his published book, ‘Adventures of a Guerrilla Journalist’.
“I did not grant any interview in March 2026. The last interview I granted to Mr. Obilo was last year, in connection with the publication of my book, Adventures of a Guerrilla Journalist. My comments in that interview were strictly related to the book and nothing more,” Ojudu stated.
Reaffirming his political stance, he stressed that his position remained unchanged and that he has no intention of joining the current administration.
“For the avoidance of doubt, I remain consistent in my convictions and have no intention of participating in the present government. My political position remains unchanged,” he added.
