A senatorial contender in the 2023 general election, Hon. Usman Ibrahim has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.

Ibrahim, popularly called Sardaunan Badarawa, in a statement, said he left PDP due to lack of direction and mass exodus of key, loyal and committed members of the party to other parties, particularly the APC.

He mentioned in specific terms giant strides and commitments of Governor Uba Sani at state and Tinubu’s commendable performance at federal level in providing succour to the people after years of disaffection as reasons for severing ties with his former party.

He also stated that he was encouraged by political allies in National Assembly and federal cabinet to bring forth his wealth of experience and ability of grassroots mobilization into the APC.

The politician noted that the most honourable and deserving thing to do in the interest of Kaduna State was to join hands with Uba Sani in quest to continue the good job he had began of putting smiles on faces of the masses.

“I have made wide and far-reaching consultations with important stakeholders and my supporters across the state and beyond before arriving at the decision to exit PDP for APC in our determination for growth and development of my Constituency, Kaduna Central and by extension the entire state.

“We can’t shy away and pay nonchalant attitudes to the ongoing political development of Kaduna State where Governor Uba Sani has demonstrated a high stake in governance that has never been seen in many, many years in our contemporary politics.

“The Governor has within a short time done so much for the people by positively touching their lives.

“The clamour for joining APC due to exemplary leadership of Uba Sani is overwhelming all over the state as more and more grassroots politicians are in large numbers entering the ruling party.

“Our political philosophy has been service to the people and ensuring their welfare is accorded attention wherever we find individuals with similar direction we do not hesitate to identify with them as We are doing with the present administration in Kaduna State.

“PDP is now peopled by self-centered individuals with no interest of the masses at hearts.

“I can’t just stay back in a toxic place with no direction and clue on how to take the state forward, hence my decision to join the APC, “he declared.
