Speaking at a luncheon in honour of Prof Mamman organised by the Adamawa Community in the FCT, the former SGF said unveiling Prof Mammah as minister of Education has shown that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria is real.

According to him, the President has taken the right decision that would definitely boost the education sector and improve governance in the country.

According to him, Mamman will revamp the education sector, adding that the sector had been neglected for a couple of decades.

“I know he is capable of doing it. This is not the time to criticize him; this is the time to approve because at the end of his tenure if he has not done very well it won’t be a good record for us, the people of Adamawa State.

“So I enjoin you to give him advice on the way to go and, as much as possible, assist him to ensure he succeeds,” Mustapha said.

Earlier, the former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, stated that those who may have passed through legal education in Adamawa State in the past 15 years would attest to Mamman’s track records of achievements.

“So for us in Adamawa State who saw his legal achievements, we see this ministerial appointment as well-deserved.

“Let me use this occasion to thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy of appointment as a minister and also for assigning him portfolio as a minister of Education,” Nyako said.

In his remarks, the 47th minister of Education thanked God for giving him the opportunity to serve as minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He said, “We thank our president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has seen in us the quality to be in his cabinet. And as you know, this is one principal with the primary aim to make Nigeria one nation. So, it is indeed great to be part of this historic moment.

“I want to thank the people of Adamawa State for showing up in this very unprecedented event. It shows that when we need to, when we can come together and speak with one voice and if I remember very well this is the second time we are having an event that the people of Adamawa State will come together in this large number.

“By the grace of God, we will work and work in such a way that by the time we serve out our tenure, Nigerians will say yes, we have done greatly.”
