The immediate past executive secretary of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC), Barr. Hassan Bello, has been conferred with the prestigious National Honours Award Of Order of the Niger (OON), in Abuja.
Bello, was awarded the prestigious National Honours in Abuja on Thursday by former president Muhammadu Buhari.
It was gathered that the award conferred on Bello was in recognition of his contribution to the maritime industry in the eight years he served as executive secretary of the Shippers’ Council.
The award, it was gathered, will spur Bello to serve the country in other capacities as directed by the incoming administration led by Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Speaking, Barr. Bello said, “My profound gratitude goes to the (former) President Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. I am humbled to announce that I have been conferred with the Prestigious National Honours Award of the Order of the Niger (OON).”
“This honour at this point in the history of our nation, fills my heart with sincere gratitude to the president, the nation, transport Ministry as well as the maritime sector where I was given opportunities to serve as the executive secretary of the NSC for eight years.”
