Kannywood actress and wife of Tijani Babangida, the President of Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Maryam Waziri, is reportedly in a critical condition after a ghastly motor accident which took the life of her one-year-old son and brother-in-law.

LEADERSHIP earlier reported that former Super Eagles star Tijani Babangida was on Thursday involved in an auto crash along Kaduna-Zaria highway in which his younger brother, Ibrahim Babangida, died on the spot.

However, in a new development, it has been reported that his barely 1-year-old son Fadil has also died while Maryam was in a terrible condition, leaving half of her face disfigured.

Additionally, their maid, who was also involved in the accident, suffered fractured bones.

The General Secretary of PFAN, Emmanuel Babayaro, in a statement announced the sad incident.

He said, “This is a difficult moment for our friend Tijjani and his entire family. After the death of Ibrahim, his little son, who was battling for life in the hospital with him, also passed away yesterday (Friday).

“Right now, he is traumatised by the death of his younger brother and his son, who was always with him. His wife has lost one of her eyes because a part of her face was damaged.

“The maid also suffered a fracture in her leg, the same as a young man who was hit by the ill-fated car.

“Well, Tijjani has since been transferred to a hospital in Abuja where he is to undergo surgery on his damaged knee and other injuries.

“All we can do is to pray for Allah to strengthen him to overcome the tragic situation,” he said.
