Ex-Taraba Gov Nyame Loses Mother

The first elected governor of Taraba State, Rev. Jolly Nyame lost his mother, Jumai Eli Nyame late Saturday night.

The demise of the late matriarch was conveyed through a statement made available to LEADERSHIP by the Director of Media and Publicity team of the former governor, Hon. Obidah Bitrus, stating that the aged Eli Nyame passed on peacefully.

“It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother Mama Jummai Eli Nyame Kala, the beloved mother of His Excellency Rev. Jolly T. Nyame (Dabang Yorro) the three times Governor of Taraba State.

“She passed away peacefully on the 28th September, 2024 at around 10pm on Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and grace that has touched the lives of many. Her devotion to family and community will forever be remembered.”

The statement recalled the enduring bond between the deceased and her children while celebrating her nurturing spirit, wisdom, and unwavering faith which were described as a beacon of hope and guidance to all who knew her.

“She was a pillar of strength in the community, and her absence will be deeply felt by many,” it stated.

Bitrus wished the former governor and his entire family the strength to bear this immense loss at this grieving time while praying that her soul rest in perfect peace.
