A political ally of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, Sani Sidi, alongside his supporters defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna.
Sidi, a former Director General of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and several PDP supporters were received into the ruling party by the Kaduna State governor, Senator Uba Sani, on Tuesday.
Speaking at the ceremony held at Trade Fair complex, Kaduna, Governor Sani assured that the APC will be fair to both new and old members.
“Muhammad Sani Sidi is back to APC because of how we are governing the state, based on justice and the needs of our people,” Governor Sani said.
Among top APC chieftains at the defection event included the Speaker House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas; and the Minister of Environment, Malam Balarabe Abbas, among others.
