Originally scheduled for November 2024, the festival encountered a series of unforeseen setbacks, leading to a postponement first to January 2025, and ultimately to its final dates of 16th to 30th May. With this timeline firmly established, the wait is over, and the excitement levels are soaring.

Vice President Kashim Shettima officially declared the games open amidst a vibrant celebration, signalling the beginning of two weeks filled with intense competition and a grand showcase of athletic talent, cultural diversity, and national unity. Ogun State is truly pulling out all the stops to ensure that this edition is nothing short of spectacular.

Performances from music heavyweights Davido and Asa electrified the crowd, heightening the festive atmosphere and setting the tone for the exhilarating days to come. Their performances captivated the audience, blending the spirit of sport with the rhythms of Nigerian culture, creating an unforgettable experience for all those present.

With all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) represented, alongside over 10,000 athletes primed to compete for glory, the stage is meticulously set for a festival like no other.
This gathering not only celebrates athletic prowess but also reinforces camaraderie and unity among the diverse cultures that make up the nation.
