Experts have predicted a significant increase in Abia North district’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) over the next 12 months due to enhanced access to markets, revival of agro-assets, and general ease of movement.
Governor Alex Otti stated this in Uzuakoli, Bende local government area as he continued his commissioning of projects executed by his administration within its first two years in office.
He said, “Our administration has outlined the district as strategic to its realization of agro-transformation agenda, which targets sustainable food security, job creation, and enhanced foreign revenue for the state.”
He said the administration had created opportunities for people to achieve personal growth and self-actualisation through significant investments in infrastructure, social services, and other critical sectors
“We are deliberately investing in infrastructure that closes the gap between rural and urban communities and eliminates the push factors for rural-urban migration,” the governor explained
He described the recently commissioned 67.6km Umuahia–Uzuakoli–Abiriba–Ohafia Joe Irukwu Way, as a transformative infrastructure development expected to spur economic growth.
Otti, who had earlier commissioned the newly reconstructed and fully equipped Ngwu Uzuakoli Primary Health Centre, said in the past 29 days alone, he had commissioned 23 new projects.
