Experts in Nigeria’s housing sector are expected to ruminate and provide insights into the financial and regulatory framework for achieving the federal government’s Renewed Hope Agenda on Housing at the forthcoming 2024 edition of the Property and Environment Writers Association of Nigeria (PEWAN) yearly conference in Lagos.

The Chairperson of PEWAN, Mrs Okwy Iroegbu-Chikezie, who revealed this to journalists in Lagos, said the annual conference is aimed to further chart pathways towards increasing housing provision in the country to bridge the huge housing deficit estimated at 28 million.

She said the experts at the conference, which has the theme ‘Resolving the Financial and Regulatory Dilemma in Achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda on Housing,’ will also discuss how to remove the limitations to effective housing production by increasing access to low-cost financing and focusing on the federal government’s housing agenda.

According to her, a major highlight of the forum scheduled for this month in Lagos will be the presentation of awards to deserving stakeholders who have distinguished themselves in the areas of housing provision, regulation, and professional service rendering in the sector.

The chairman disclosed that leaders in the housing sector value chain have also been carefully selected to examine the issues and challenges and point the way forward to ensuring that states are well captured in the renewed hope housing agenda while all Nigerians in need of affordable but quality homes also benefit.
