He also decried unemployment rate, crave for quick wealth resulting to high rate of internet fraud as contributing to insecurity rate in the zone.

Otoboeze who is president of Nsukka Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture stated that the zone is highly endowed with agricultural potential that if properly harnessed would drive development of the zone, however, warned that such development could only be realised if the environment is secured.

He spoke as a guest lecturer yesterday at this year’s convention/public lecture and award ceremony of Nsukka Journalists Forum (NJF) titled “Securing the Future, Enhancing Peace, Trust and Development of Nsukka Cultural zone” themed “No Security, No Development – Together We Build Both” held in Jerry Marriott Hotel, Nsukka.

“We must take up the responsibility to expose all criminal elements in our communities, no parent, traditional ruler, community leader should shield any of their children who is a criminal; Churches should stop preaching prosperity acquired from no confirmed sources.

“The truth is that if you catch one criminal and the news goes round, other criminals will ran away, security will reduce.
