FaddotheGreat Sets Guinness World Record With 50-Hour Magic Marathon

Nigerian illusionist Ibitoye Kingfahd, popularly known as FaddotheGreat, has been officially confirmed as a Guinness World Record holder after completing a 50-hour non-stop magic performance in Lagos, setting a new global benchmark for endurance in stage illusion.

The record-breaking show, held at the POP Landmark Centre in Victoria Island between November 27 and 29, 2025, saw the magician perform more than 1,200 unique tricks spanning card routines, mentalism and large-scale illusions. Under Guinness rules, no trick could be repeated within four hours, turning the marathon into both a creative and physical challenge.

FaddotheGreat surpassed the previous record held by British performer Richard Smith, whose 30-hour and 45-minute feat had remained unbeaten since 2004. The Nigerian illusionist described the achievement as more than a personal milestone, saying it was aimed at changing perceptions about magic across Africa and positioning the craft as a respected art form.
