The Faleke Youth Vanguard, a political support group aligned with Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, has declared its support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group also announced the dissolution of its independent political structure and merging with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, a move widely seen as reinforcing party unity and consolidating grassroots strength.
The development appears to lay to rest earlier speculations about a possible governorship ambition by Faleke in the 2027 race, signalling a strategic alignment with the party’s leadership at both state and national levels.
According to the group, the decision followed a directive from Faleke, underscoring his commitment to party cohesion and collective progress.
At the event, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo described Faleke as a dedicated and selfless leader who has consistently invested in the welfare of the people.
He urged the people to sustain their support for his administration, stressing that governance thrives on collective responsibility.
“We must work together as one family, engage constructively on our challenges and pursue solutions that will drive the overall development of Kogi State,” the governor said.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering good governance and encouraged political aspirants to connect meaningfully with the grassroots.
Ododo also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his continued support for the state, particularly in advancing key infrastructure projects, such as the Lokoja–Abuja Road.
The chairman of the Forum of Senior Special Assistants, Hon. Bode Adeyemi, described the Faleke Youth Vanguard as a strong political bloc, noting that its integration into the APC reflected the party’s growing unity.
In his remarks, the group’s national chairman, Hon. Kehinde Alamo, commended Governor Ododo for what he termed visible developmental strides across the state.
He praised the governor’s inclusive leadership style, saying it had fostered stability and unity.
Alamo reaffirmed the group’s commitment to mobilising support across the 21 local government areas to ensure victory for both Tinubu and Ododo in 2027.
The women leader of the group, Salihu Nana-Aisha, lauded the governor’s humility and people-oriented leadership, assuring him of sustained support from women across the state.
Similarly, the APC youth leader in Lokoja, Buhari Lokoja, described Ododo’s leadership as exemplary and pledged the youth support for the administration.
