Family, Associates, Neighbours Of Slain Ajagungbade Demand Justice

Family members, associates and neighbours of slain factional leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Osun State, Mr Olalekan Oyeyemi (aka Emir Ajagungbade) have demanded justice over his murder.

Oyeyemi was reportedly killed at Mayfair Motor Park, Ile-Ife, on Sunday, shortly after attending a meeting with the Osun State commissioner for Transport, Hon. Sesan Oyedele.

Lamenting Oyeyemi’s sudden death, Tunde Osundina, an indigene of Ede, said that the killers of his brother must not go unpunished.

Speaking with LEADERSHIP in Osogbo, Osundina said he was with his deceased, who was hale and hearty on Saturday, adding that Ajagungbade promised to assist him financially, only to hear about the news of his death.

“Whosoever is responsible for the untimely death of my brother should be apprehended and made to pay for the consequences of his actions. My brother must not die in vain. His mother, Mama Gbaale, is in agony,” he said.

Also, his associate, Mr Gbadegesin, who described the deceased as a cheerful giver, said his death would have an adverse effect on many people who live with him.

“Emir is a compassionate leader. He has helped many people in garages across the state and is well known for his charity work. His killers must not go unpunished. May his soul rest in peace in Jesus Name”
In his reaction to Oyeyemi’s death, a neighbour at Woru, Osogbo, Mrs Bola Oyeniyi, who lamented the death of the deceased, said Emir Ajagungbade has been an agent of security in the neighbourhood, adding that hoodlums would not harass them when he was alive.

“We are devastated here. Emirs has been a security agent for us; though sometimes we fear his boys, he will not condone nonsense from them while he is alive. Police should unravel the circumstances that led to his death and punish the culprit”, Oyeniyi said.

Meanwhile, Osun State police command had, in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo by the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the command has commenced investigation into the death of Olalekan Oyeyemi aka Emir Ajagungbade.
