Farmers, operating at Idege farmstead under Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital have called on the government and security agencies to provide security for them, saying armed herders are on their heels to eliminate them.
The farmers who decried the destruction of several hectares of farmlands in the area by suspected herders said their farms spanning several hectares of lands were ravaged by cattle that were being reared free-ranged by some Fulani Nomads.
One of the victims, who identified himself as Ibrahim, told newsmen in Ado Ekiti, the state capital yesterday, that over 30 farmers in the farmstead were affected by the destruction.
