The police have charged a man, his wife and daughter before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court, over alleged assault.

The defendants are Babatunde Awolusi, 45; Mary Awolusi, 42 and Oluwaseun Awolusi, 23.

The trio, who reside at Gloryland Avenue, Covenant Extension, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State are standing trial on a four-count charge bordering on assault and obstruction of duty.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the prosecutor, ASP Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on February 11, 2026, at about 10:00 a.m. in Ado-Ekiti.

He said the defendants assaulted one Precious Agunbiade and Kehinde Agunbiade, following a misunderstanding over land demarcation.

According to the prosecutor, in the process, the third defendant cut Kehinde with a razor blade on her back.

He further told the court that the defendants also assaulted some police officers, ASP Taiwo Ogunleye, Inspector Adejoh Esther and Inspector. Omozuafo Juliet and obstructed them from performing their lawful duties.
