Less than 24 hours after her dramatic appointment as the new chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Ayo Omidira, has appreciated President Bola Tinubu for her nomination for the position, even as she revealed two other people responsible for her appointment.
Omidiran, a former member of the House of Representatives from Osun State and a staunch member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), named the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and his wife Kafayat Oyetola, as those who recommended her to Tinubu for appointment.
Taking to her Facebook page on Tuesday morning, Omidiran expressed gratitude to the trio and God Almighty for the development. She wrote: “Grateful, for the nomination, Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, For the recommendation, H.E Adegboyega Oyetola, For staying true to sisterhood, H.E Kafayat Oyetola and to God, the Almighty, for everything.
“Alhamdulillah Robbi li alameen.”
LEADERSHIP reports late Monday night that President Tinubu had named the former federal lawmaker as the new Executive Chairman of the FCC just hours after initially announcing the reappointment of the former chairman of the Commission.
According to a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Omidiran succeeds Dr Muheeba Dankaka from Kwara State, whom the Presidency said her “tenure was dogged by controversy.”
