Federal College of Education (FCE) Yola, Adamawa State has marked its 50th anniversary and graduated 40,000 students.
Chairman of the Governing Council, Mr Shared Johnson who disclosed this at the anniversary in Yola yesterday, said the graduands were already in various works of life.
Johnson appreciated the federal and state governments as well as TetFund and North East Development Commission (NEDC) for the support and contributions for the development of the college and the nation.
“We thank God for blessing us and guiding us to be shinning examples among colleges of educations in the country,” he said.
In his address, the provost of the college, Muhammad Dagereji, thanked all those who contributed to the development of college since its inception to date.
According to him, the 11 award recipients were carefully selected for their outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the college and humanity.
He added that out of the awardees, eight were not alive but were remembered because of their numerous contributions.
Dagereji said the deputy governor of Adamawa State, Prof. Kaletapwa Farauta, was considered for the award because of her achievements in life to serve as role model for students being a product of the college.
Retired chief judge, Nathan Musa, the chairman of the occasion, described the college as a beacon of knowledge.(NAN)
