In a strategic move for electoral success in the upcoming area council elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced the inauguration of its new executive members across the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The event took place in all the six area councils in Abuja where scores of party supporters gathered to witness the significant milestone.
The chairman of the FCT APC, Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman, who led the inauguration ceremony, told supporters that the leadership of the party was committed to ensure the success of the party in all the area councils of the FCT.
Speaking with supporters of the party in Bwari area council, Usman reflected on the previous internal crises that undermined the authenticity of the party’s executives, emphasising that, “God has made it possible that the authentic executives of this party have been made known.”
He highlighted that the national executive has endorsed the current state executive council, reassuring supporters of their legitimacy.
“We are here at Bwari to fulfill the national chairman’s directive for the 62 wards and six area councils,” Usman stated.
He further urged the electorate to support the new leaders, adding that, “You are the ones that choose these people; they are here to represent you.”
The FCT APC state women leader, Hajiha Salamatu Jibrin, also delivered a keynote address charging women that, “The days of your vote being disregarded are over. We are going to mobilise, and by the special grace of God, we will ensure women have a stake in leadership roles.”
A prominent APC stakeholder, Mr Solomon Ayuba, expressed appreciation for the success of the event, recalling the difficult times the party faced.
Ayuba expressed confidence in the incumbents to provide even better service during their new term.
According to him, as the APC positions itself for the upcoming area council elections in the FCT, the newly inaugurated executives, equipped with renewed confidence and community endorsement, are poised to harness the collective will of their supporters to ensure a successful campaign.
Another key figure within the party, Alhaji Yahaya Isah, praised the collective commitment of its members, emphasizing the necessity of unity within the party to reclaim lost ground in the Bwari area council.
He urged the new executive to maintain loyalty to party values and effectiveness, stating that, “If it is APC, let it be APC.”
The Bwari ward chairman, Ali Shere, delivered the welcome speech, thanking all stakeholders, aspirants and supporters for their dedication and hard work.
