The public relations officer of the FCT Police Command, Superintendent of Police (SP), Josephine Adeh, has emerged as the ‘2024 IGP Public Relations Officer of the Year’.
SP Adeh was honoured at the 2nd Nigeria Police Awards and Commendation Ceremony held Wednesday night in Abuja, where she topped a competitive list of nominees, including SP Ikenga Tochukwu (PPRO, Anambra State Command) and DSP Chinaka Chioma (PPRO, Abia State Command).
While reacting to the honour, SP Adeh said, “I feel very happy. I’m overwhelmed and emotional this evening. I wasn’t expecting this, but I’m glad I got it. This recognition shows that the Inspector General of Police and indeed the world is watching our efforts. It’s a motivation that hard work is not going unnoticed.”
She dedicated the award to the media and to senior colleagues who have mentored her journey.
“I dedicate this award to you, the media—you pushed me to this level. To the Force PRO, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, and especially DIG Frank Mba, thank you. I promise to do more. To whom much is given, much is expected. I’ll keep giving my best and won’t disappoint the IGP or the Nigeria Police Force,” she added.
Prior to her 2021 appointment as PPRO, she was the second-in-command for Strategic Communications at the Force Public Relations Department.
An Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, SP Adeh has also completed the Advanced Detective Course at the Police Staff College, Jos, Plateau State.
