FCT FA League: CASMATT, Golden Boys, Defence Strikers Shine In Opening Matches

The FCT FA League season commenced with an electrifying start, showcasing remarkable performances from CASMATT FC, Golden Boys, and Defence Strikers as they secured impressive victories in their opening matches.

The month-long tournament, which began on Monday, 16 June 2025, has 18 teams which were divided into three pools participating.

Matches are being played at venues including the Area 3 Playing Pitch and the Old Parade Ground in Abuja for the tournament.

The competition has from the outset, provided thrilling entertainment as teams from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) vie for glory and a coveted spot in the Super Six showdown.

In one of the standout fixtures of Day 1, CASMATT FC triumphed over Gwarinpa FC with a score line of 3–1.

Meanwhile, Golden Boys of Ushafa edged past IB Sports in a nail-biting encounter, finishing 4–3 while Defence Strikers FC also enjoyed a close-fought victory by defeating Royal FC 4–3.

Youthful Ballers dispatched Camp United with a solid 2–0 win, while Pride FC narrowly claimed victory against Makinz FC with a 1–0 score line.

In contrast, Ramsaky Optimum and their opponents were unable to find the net, settling for a goalless draw.

As the tournament unfolds, fans can anticipate more exhilarating action, skillful displays, and dramatic moments with teams striving for dominance in this year’s edition of the FCT FA League.
