In a bid to ensure early and seamless preparations, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a deadline of December 1, 2025, for the payment of the 2026 Hajj fare, which has been set at N7,696,769.76.
The announcement was contained in a press release issued on Monday by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Lawal Aliyu, directing all intending pilgrims from FCT to adhere strictly to the new guidelines.
According to the statement, the fare was determined by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The Board mandated that all payments must be made via bank draft, explicitly ruling out cash transactions to ensure transparency and accountability.
“The Board has fixed 1st of December, 2025 as the deadline for the payment of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
“Intending pilgrims who have the intention of performing Hajj through the Board to complete payment before the deadline to book for a seat to be part of the religious journey,” he stated.
The spokesperson emphasised the importance of the deadline for the Board’s planning process.
“All payments for the Hajj exercise are to be concluded before the deadline to enable the Board compile the actual list of Intending Pilgrims for the exercise this year and to remit all funds to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) on schedule,” he explained.
Also, to enhance the pilgrimage experience for FCT prospective pilgrims, the Board also revealed that it has commenced pre-arrangements with service providers in Saudi Arabia.
“The Board has initiated negotiations with service providers in Saudi Arabia for the provision of feeding and a befitting accommodation in Makkah during the 2026 Hajj.
“In line with the desire of the Board to render the best services to the FCT contingent in accordance with the desire of the present Administration,” he stated.
