FCT Police Rescue 14 Kidnap Victims, Kill Kidnapper In Nasarawa

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), FCT Command, attached to the Anti-kidnapping Unit and the Rubochi Divisional Police headquarters, on January 14, rescued 14 kidnap victims at about 5:30am.

FCT spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, in a statement, said, “the combined team, acting on credible intelligence stormed a Kidnapper’s den located at Ukya village via Nasarawa State bordering FCT, and on sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums opened fire on the police operatives which resulted in gun duel.

“The police operatives nuetralised one of the kidnappers as the rest scampered to nearby forest with various degrees of bullet wounds.”

The Police further said the hostages who were rescued unhurt have since been reunited with their loved ones.

Meanwhile, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Haruna Garba, has reiterated his commitment to rid FCT of criminality in all its manifestations and maintenance of peace for all and sundry.
