Chairmanship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Moses Paul, has announced that supporters of the “New Nigeria” movement raised over N2.6 million to support his forthcoming election campaign.
Paul disclosed that the funds were mobilised through contributions from supporters on the X platform, describing the gesture as a strong demonstration of public confidence in his candidacy.
In a statement, the ADC candidate expressed gratitude to donors, noting that the contributions had already boosted campaign activities across the council area.
According to him, the donations enabled his campaign team to print additional flyers, improve logistics and expand grassroots mobilisation efforts within AMAC.
He described the financial support as more than campaign funding, stating that it reflected citizens’ commitment to political change and collective responsibility for governance.
Paul assured supporters that his administration, if elected, would prioritise accountability, transparency and people-centred governance, adding that the momentum generated by the donations would further strengthen efforts to deliver improved leadership at the council level.
The AMAC chairmanship poll is scheduled for this Saturday as political parties intensify preparations and grassroots engagement.
End.
