At about 3:30 p.m., the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Presiding Officer, Martins Sani, announced the results at Polling Unit 072, located within the Supreme Court Quarters in Karu, in the presence of party agents.
According to Sani, Maikalangu of the APC secured 12 votes, while Moses of the ADC also polled 12 votes.
He further declared that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered four votes, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate received two votes, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Action Democratic Party (ADP) candidates scored one vote each.
The presiding officer noted that there were no void votes recorded at the polling unit. Out of 749 registered voters, only 32 cast their ballots, leaving 717 voters who did not participate in the exercise.
Following the announcement, party agents present signed the result sheets, after which the results were uploaded to INEC’s Results Viewing Portal (IReV).
Sani added that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) functioned smoothly throughout the voting process without any technical hitches.
