The council also approved rehabilitation of roads within the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

This includes repair of facilities such as the airport apron, taxiway and the presidential kitchen.

“Currently, there is insufficient access from the main road (Bill Clinton Drive) to this area. Thus, we are prioritising the rehabilitation of the access road and the hangar, where the presidential aircraft is housed,” he said.

The contract for renovation of the Presidential Wing has been awarded to Julius Berger at N9.8 billion with a six-month completion period.

The contract for design and construction of 10 staff quarters at the Nigerian Law School in Bwari was awarded to Messrs Austlinks Energy Services Limited for N2.1 billion.

It will include four-bedroom bungalows and improvements to the external road network, water supply and drainage systems.

Another contract worth N2 billion was approved for the supply of diesel and petrol to the Wupa Basin sewage treatment plant awarded to Messrs Safah & Fresh International Ltd, among others.
