In a statement, the team leader, corporate communications of the AEA, Emmanuel Tortiv,  said it was noted that similar initiatives were conducted at Wuse and Nyanya markets within the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

On Thursday, the AEA sensitisation team hosted a town hall meeting at the area council secretariat in Bwari, focusing on critical topics such as tax payment, budgeting, savings, financial planning, risk management, financial fraud and fcams, and retirement planning.

The council chairman, John Gabaya, represented by the acting director of administration, Mr. Isah Musa Yerima, lauded the AEA for its initiative amidst the challenges faced by rural dwellers.

He pointed out that many potential entrepreneurs often see their ambitions falter due to lack of knowledge.

“A common issue for local entrepreneurs is that they frequently mismanage their initial capital. This training comes at an opportune moment, especially with the harvesting season approaching; the income from their farms could significantly support them,” he stated.

He urged AEA to provide additional incentives that could further help local businesses thrive.

During the event, AEA managing director and CEO Mr. Chudi Ugwuada-Ezirigwe expressed gratitude to the Bwari Area Council for its support of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

He reiterated the agency’s commitment to partner with the area council to enhance financial literacy for inhabitants.

Ugwuada-Ezirigwe who was represented by Partnerships and Strategy manager, Usman Isiaka Usman, said the campaign which commenced in Dutse, aimed to benefit a broader audience as part of the minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike’s efforts to stimulate business growth through rural transformation initiatives.
