The mandate secretary, FCT Women Affairs Secretariat, Dr Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi who made the call during a press briefing in Abuja, said land is no longer a barrier, and women should use soil-less style like sacks and containers to plant vegetables in their compounds.

Benjamins-Laniyi urged women to submit their applications for the Garden competition at Area 10, Social Development Secretariat, Abuja.

She explained that ‘Every-Home-A-Garden’ is a national event and an initiative of the first lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, targeted at enhancing food security through increased farm produce across the federation under the supervision of governors’ wives.

According to the mandate secretary, the gardens of those that keyed into the competition will be inspected till September 25 to get the overall winners in the territory.
