Fed Cup: Kano Pillars Battle Katsina Utd, Rivers Tackle Sunshine Stars

The round of 16 fixtures for 2024 President Federation Cup have thrown up interesting encounters with hard-fighting  Kano Pillars and Katsina United scheduled to lock horns in a North-west derby affair at the New Jos Stadium, Jos.

Sai Masu Gida, as Kano Pillars fondly called dispatched Doma United 1-0 in the round of 32 at the FIFA  Pitch in Abuja to reach the Round of 16.

Katsina United on their part, beat hard-fighting Bayelsa United 1-0 in the round of 32 to advance to the last 16.

The 2024 President Federation Cup’s round of 16 fixtures released on Monday by the organisers, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), will also see former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Rivers United face off with another NPFL side Sunshine Stars of Aure in Abuja Area 3 Football Pitch.

Nigerian champions Enyimba will seek to outsmart hard-fighting Nigeria National League (NNL) side Sokoto United when they tangle on Wednesday, May 29 at the FIFA Goal Project, Abuja.Another two NPFL sides – Kwara United and Abia Warriors will battle for a spot in the quarterfinals in Ikenne on Wednesday, May 29.

Wikki Tourists of Bauchi will square up against EFCC FC of Abuja in Kano, while Kebbi United and Akwa United lock horns for a spot in the quarterfinals in Bwari, Abuja; jost as El-Kanemi Warriors of Maiduguri will trade tackle Shooting Stars in Abuja Goal Project.
