The Federal Government has closed a section of Keffi Flyover in Keffi, Nasarawa State and commenced integrity test to ascertain the state of the infrastructure.
The closure followed the collapse of a section of the bridge on commuters, causing panic among residents and travelers.
Director Information, Federal Ministry of Works, Mohammed Ahmed Sabo, in a statement on Thursday said the closure was to conduct integrity test to determine the extent of damage to the bridge.
“FG Closes Affected Section of Keffi Flyover, Begins Integrity Test to Ascertain the Level of Damage,” Sabo said in the statement.
Eyewitnesses said the collapse was caused by a vehicle carrying an oversized container, which led to the structural failure of the bridge.
Unconfirmed report also claimed that two persons lost their lives in the incident.
LEADERSHIP gathered that security personnel and emergency responders had visited the scene.
