The Federal Government has commended the Council of Former Permanent Secretaries (CORFEPS) for its remarkable contributions toward strengthening governance through its advisory role and enhancing efficiency in the public sector.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, made the commendation when the delegation from CORFEPS led by its National Chairman and former SGF, Dr. Mahmud Yayale Ahmed, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.

In a statement by the director of media in the office of SGF, Segun Imohiosen, the SGF acknowledged the submissions of advisory documents submitted by the Council to President Bola Tinubu, advising the government on key sectors of the economy.

Akume assured CORFEPS that as a listening leader, Mr. President will take into cognisance their suggestions and recommendations.

Having commended them for their meritorious service in the Federal Civil Service, he assured them of the commitment of the present administration to tap into their wealth of experience in nation-building.

Speaking earlier, the National Chairman of CORFEPS, Dr. Mahmud Yayale Ahmed expressed the group’s readiness to support the present administration through its advisory role and to the public service for effective service delivery.
