The organisers of one of Nigeria’s biggest food and lifestyle celebrations, Foodaholic Festival, have said that apart from attracting thousands of guests, food brands, families, creatives and cultural enthusiasts from across Nigeria and the diaspora, it would drive cultural tourism and stimulate the Lagos economy.

In his address at a press briefing in Lagos, the convener of the festival, Geena Ojo, described the event as a multidimensional celebration, saying, “The Foodaholics Festival is more than just a food fair, it is a celebration of identity, innovation, and community.

“It is a place where small businesses blossom, where big brands engage directly with their consumers, and where families, foodies, influencers and culture enthusiasts gather to enjoy a multi-sensory experience like no other.”

According to him, the festival scheduled to be held at JJT Park in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos has contributed significantly to Lagos’s reputation as Nigeria’s culinary capital, adding that it has consistently highlighted not only the region’s food culture but also the creative energy of its people.

Ojo further emphasised that the festival’s role in driving local tourism and stimulating economic growth is highly treasured, saying, “From job creation and vendor empowerment to increased activity in the hospitality and retail sectors.”

She noted that the festival has become an important economic catalyst with many participating vendors, ranging from food brands and fashion retailers to creatives and artisans, reporting their highest sales figures during the event.

“Beyond economic impact, the festival has succeeded in positioning Lagos as a destination for cultural tourism. People now fly into Nigeria just for this event. Our journey wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our partners from financial institutions who believe in powering local enterprise, to FMCG brands and lifestyle companies who use this platform to engage authentically with their market,” she said.
