The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Kebbi State office of Nutrition, has trained over 30 health personnel on the electronic-National Health Logistic Management Information System (e-NHLMIS).
The 2-day training, which consists of health personnel drawn from across ministries, agencies, boards, commissions and parastatals at the state level held at Kamba Annex Motel Behind New Prison, Birnin Kebbi in Kebbi State, was solidly aimed at boarding the nutrition commodities electronically to Nigerian Health Logistic Management Information System (NHLMIS) from the manual system.
Speaking with Leadership during the opening of the training, commissioner of health, Comrade Yunusa Yauri, represented by permanent secretary Dr Shehu Nuhu Koko, who was also represented by the director of Nursing Services, Alhaji Samaila Sauwa, said the training is all about changing motives on the movement of nutrition commodities logistic onboarding into NHLMIS electronic system from the manual.
Sauwa charged the participants with using what they had learned to change the commodities movement in electronic modules at their respective facilities in the state.
Head of nutrition commodities logistic management at the Federal of Health and Social Welfare, Samari Godwin Bawa, stated that the training aims to assist the participants in using platforms to address the boarding of nutrition commodities into NHLMIS.
“You know other health personnel have gone far into the national system on this boarding, so we need every worker on the health line, particularly those in the nutrition department, to be reporting all the commodities electronically, not manually,” Godwin said.
He charged the participants to be more committed to the practice of how to engage in platforms for easy access to national offices and other international donor agencies.
The state lead facilitator and LMCUC at Kebbi State Ministry of Health, Pharm, Mubarak Balarabe, disclosed that there are over participants drawn from across ministries, agencies, departments, boards, parastatals, KECHEMA and from the Ministry of Health Nutrition, Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing and drugs Management agency.
He noted that the participants were carefully selected, so they should use what they gained to improve the National Health Logistic Management Information System (NHLMIS).
