FG Targets N7bn Revenue From Train Passengers

The Nigerian government has set a target of generating ₦7.01 billion from train passengers by the end of 2025, reflecting an optimistic outlook for the rail transport sector as it continues to recover and expand its services.
Current Initiatives

In December 2024, the NRC offered free train rides to over 340,000 passengers during the holiday season, showcasing efforts to boost ridership and enhance public engagement with rail services.
Overall, the NRC’s performance in late 2024 and early 2025 suggests a robust recovery trajectory following previous challenges, with ongoing efforts aimed at improving service and increasing capacity.
