The federal government is set to file fresh charges against the alleged fake director-general of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi.
The eight-count criminal charge brought by the federal government against Adeyemi before a Federal High Court in Abuja was struck out by Justice Mohammed Garba Umar.
The government said it would file fresh charges against him before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for arraignment.
Mr Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN) SAN and director of the Public Prosecution of the Federation (DPPF) moved the application for the termination of the charges.
Oyedepo told the court that the attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice carried out a review of the case file of Adeyemi and the charges filed by the inspector-general of police (IGP) and found some loopholes.
He said the documents allegedly forged by Adeyemi during his operations at the fake agency are those that can be prosecuted in the High Court of the FCT, not the Federal High Court.
He urged the Judge to strike out the charge as required by law.
Following no objections from Ibrahim Angulu SAN, who stood for Adeyemi, Justice Umar terminated the charge accordingly.
Adeniyi, 38, was being tried alongside two others whose whereabouts were unknown on charges bordering on conspiracy and forgery.
The two others said to be at large were identified as Femi ( surname unknown) and Anu (surname unknown).
