The 76th FIFA Congress, held on April 30, 2026, in Vancouver, Canada, highlighted the FIFA World Cup™ in North America as a unifying force and reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating racism from football.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino called for peace and unity, stressing football’s power to bring people together amidst global divisions.
Infantino also provided an update on the “Global Stand Against Racism,” detailing significant progress since its unanimous approval in 2024. George Weah, honorary captain of the Players’ Voice Panel, emphasized the need for this movement to penetrate deeper into communities.
The Congress approved the FIFA Annual Report 2025, revealing a record-breaking revenue forecast of USD 14 billion for the 2027-2030 cycle. This will enable unprecedented reinvestment in the game, with FIFA Forward investments reaching a new high of USD 2.7 billion, an eightfold increase in development funding for Member Associations compared to pre-2016 programs.
Statements were heard from the Palestine Football Association (PFA) and the Israel Football Association (IFA), with President Infantino stressing the importance of football in building bridges and recognizing the equal rights of both federations.
Finally, President Infantino announced his intention to seek re-election at the 77th FIFA Congress, which will take place on March 18, 2027, in Rabat, Morocco. An Extraordinary FIFA Congress will be held virtually on November 23, 2026, to appoint the hosts for the 2031 and 2035 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ editions.
