Three days before the LEADERSHIP Annual Conference and Awards, interest in the event among the world’s top business executives appears to have reached a new high.
Analytics released on Thursday by the Financial Times showed that the click-through rate (CTR) on the awards showcased on the FT website since February doubled the average rate for unique FT decision-makers.
The event is on Tuesday, April 8, at the Old Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja.
The special guest of honour and keynote speaker, Vice President Kashim Shettima, has confirmed attendance. He will be speaking on the opportunities and challenges of Nigeria’s fiscal federalism.
The total impressions of the awards and conference advert on the Financial Times site also reached a new high. Whereas it was 16,944 as of the end of February when the first data was released, the March figures showed 36,064 impressions, with close to 20k unique users.
Top among those who viewed the adverts are company vice presidents and directors, senior managers, departmental heads and CEOs and chairmen in financial services, banking, consulting and government businesses and NGOs in the UK, USA, UAE, Canada, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Egypt and Nigeria.
Other recipients are the Banker of the Year, Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, Dame Adaora Umeoji; Business Person of the Year, and founder/CEO of Aiteo, Mr. Benedict Peters; and the Oil and Gas Local Content Champion of the Year, ARCO Engineering.

Financial Times is the world’s leading financial and business newspaper, patronised by a niche audience.
The campaign also covers Egypt, Algeria, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
Over 35,000 Financial Times subscribers in any of these countries can click on the banner ad to visit the LEADERSHIP Conference and Awards website.
The highest impressions so far are from the UK, the US, and Africa. The campaign is still running in the Financial Times.
In a statement, the Senior Vice Chairman/Editor-in-Chief, Azu Ishiekwene, said on Monday, “This is a clear indication of the global nature that the Conference and Awards have become.”
