Rivers United’s Technical Adviser, Finidi George, has urged his squad to channel their recent impressive Federation Cup performance into their upcoming league fixture against Abia Warriors.

The “Pride of Rivers” secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Willbros FC in the state Federation Cup final on Sunday. George is now keen to see that same level of intensity and clinical finishing when they welcome Abia Warriors for their Matchday 36 encounter at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt next weekend.

Speaking to the club’s media, George acknowledged the task ahead. “It’s excellent to secure a win ahead of the crucial clash against Abia Warriors next weekend,” he stated.

“We netted three goals in the Federation Cup, and we’re hoping to replicate that in the match against Abia Warriors. It won’t be an easy game – we’ll need to put in a lot of effort.”
