Nine people have been killed in a fresh attack on the Mayo-Ladde communities of Hong local area of Adamawa State.
The chairman of the council, Inuwa Usman Wa’aganda, confirmed the fatality before security forces intervened in the area.
He said the attackers stormed the village at night, killing the innocent victim.
Meanwhile, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has described the deadly attack as “unfortunate”.

Mayo Ladde, a community under Gaya District in Hong council, came under insurgent attack Wednesday night, which led to multiple fatalities.
Governor Fintiri, who promptly visited the affected area, addressed displaced residents taking refuge in Uba Gaya. He expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and reassured the people of the state government’s commitment to restoring and maintaining peace in the state.
While commending the military for their continued efforts in combating insurgency, the governor pledged sustained support for the security agencies and local vigilante groups to ensure lasting stability and enable the residents to resume normal economic activities.
During the visit, the speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley, alongside the member representing Uba Gaya Constituency, Adum John Alaba, commiserated with the families of the victims and urged continued public support for the Fintiri administration.
Earlier at the palace, Tol Huba Alheri Bulus Nyako praised the governor’s swift response, describing him as a compassionate leader committed to the welfare of the people.
He, however, called on the government to intensify security measures, including the recruitment of more forest guards to complement existing security operations.
The governor was accompanied on the visit by top government officials, including the secretary to the state government (SSG), Auwal Tukur, and the chief of staff, Government House, Edgar Amos, among others.
