Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has offered automatic employment to 60 graduating engineering students sponsored to study in India after completing their one-year mandatory service.
Fintiri made this known Thursday when they paid him a thank-you visit for the scholarship opportunity that enabled them to study abroad.
The commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Umar Umar Garba Pella, stated that the graduates deeply appreciated the governor for sponsoring their education.
Pella recalled that the scholarship scheme was introduced in 2020 to support Adamawa indigenes in pursuing five-year engineering programmes in India.
He noted that the governor, impressed with the students’ performance, reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining the program for the benefit of more Adamawa indigenes.
Dr Pella further assured that the State Government is making adequate preparations to send another batch of students to study in China under its next scholarship program.
Speaking on behalf of the graduating students, Tahir Iju Sama’ila expressed gratitude to the governor and his cabinet for the opportunity to study abroad.
He noted that while other states abandoned their students, Governor Fintiri remained committed, ensuring full sponsorship of their education.
Tahir Iju Sama’ila also encouraged his fellow students to continue working hard for a better future.
