Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri donated N30 million on Tuesday to cover the medical expenses of patients at two tertiary health institutions in the state.

The Governor announced a donation of N15 million to patients at the Specialist Hospital, Yola, and another N15 million to the endowment fund of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), Yola, to assist in the treatment of patients battling cancer and other serious ailments.

Governor Fintiri reiterated his administration’s resolve to strengthen the healthcare system by constructing and equipping secondary healthcare facilities across the state.

He emphasised that a significant portion of the state budget will remain dedicated to the health sector to ensure all citizens’ access to quality healthcare services.

The governor appealed for understanding and urged resident doctors who have threatened to embark on a strike to prioritise the well-being of the people.
