Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu has hinted of plans to construct a 16.3-kilometre road linking communities around Sangere and Federal Government Girls College and Yolde Pate in Yola town.
The governor, who spoke through the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Works and Energy Development Mohammed Suleiman, told LEADERSHIP that the flyover would be constructed at Mubi Roundabout to ease entry and exit into the state capital.
Suleiman said the project was part of Governor Fintiri’s administration’s package for urban renewal campaign.
He pledged to sustain infrastructural development until Adamawa urban centres and semi-urban centres wear a befitting look to attract more investors into the state.
During the presentation of the 2023 budget to the state House of Assembly, the governor promised to construct the Yolde Pate-New Prison to Yadim, Parda Muninga-Fufore, Kwanan Yaji-Amdur, Longa Ewa-Wuro Yombe, Hong-Mujili-Kuva Gaya, Mayo Nguli-Manjaken-Salma, Numan-Bare, Shelleng-Bakta, Toungo-Kiri, Polewire-Ndikon, Ngurore-Mayobelwa-Gongoshi.
The rural electrification project has equally reconnected communities of Michika and Madagali councils to the national grid after five years of darkness due to destruction by Boko Haram Insurgents. We have also connected Uba/Mishara in Hong local government area, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs’) camp in Sangere/Jabbi Lamba in Girei council.
Others are Fadama-Rake in Hong LGA, Bahuli in Mubi-North LGA. We have awarded contracts for the electrification of Kpasham, Bille and Dong in Demsa LGA and that of So’o and Mapeo in Jada LGA.##
